In the Land of Milk and Honey
Living in the land of milk and honey you can expect a wedding day to be filled with spectacular views. Ashley and Emmanuel's wedding was held at a location that provided a feast for the eyes. Having lived in Pullman for almost ten years I am still in awe of the beauty of this area. Each season provides such splendor that it's considered a hot spot for landscape photographers around the world. And this location didn't disappoint Plus it also held the added benefit of being Ashley's family home.
I walked into the home and was surrounded by a feeling of joy and peace. I was treated with a warm welcome, all the way down to the 3 fur babies. After a quick meet and greet, I got to work right away on photographing details. Rings, shoes, the invitation, special gifts for the guests (made by Emmanuel's niece) And of course the dress! I can't tell you how many times I see wedding dresses and I have loved them all and of course, Ashley's was no different. Ashley told me how she found it at the very first dress shop she looked at and that the owner was amazing at helping her, not just at the original viewing but till the very end, making sure everything was perfect for the special day. And boy was it ever!
But let's forget about Emmanuel, he was in a tux that definitely impressed his beautiful bride. Looking handsome, confident, and strong he complimented the beauty and elegance that Ashley radiated.

Ashley and Emmanuel decided to have an intimate bridal party, having a couple of delightful flower girls that are part of Emmanuel's family to share in the spotlight. (These two can cut a rug! and were found dancing it up as much as anyone else at the end of the night)!
Ashley's grandfather held the guests captive with his amazing wedding speech along with the vows. He delighted everyone with the story of Ashley and Emmanuel's meeting and falling in love. Late-night phone calls and an epic first date. It was truly wonderful. (In my opinion, he should do it full time, and charge a premium. Seriously it was that good)! By the end, I along with countless others were crying. it was defiantly memorable.
When pronounced husband and wife Emmanuel took Ashley in his arms and kissed her in a way that's best described as a fairytale legend sort of kiss. Cheers rang out, me being one of the many voices. Joy was felt in a way only a wedding with two amazing individuals can create. Two families at that moment were united and the power of that wasn't lost on anyone.

With Dinner being served at the hand of Ashley's father the Chef, and his trusted Sous. Hamburger sliders and braised pork tacos made for a delicious melding of two cultures just like the families that were joined on this stunning July day.
After dinner, when the sun was starting to go down, golden hour was upon us, I whisked the newlyweds away to take some dreamy landscape images. (I show one here in the blog but the rest I have kept under wraps to unveil for the couple to view first). The view is incredible and I couldn't have been happier when they happily left their celebration to do obliged this humble photographer. I know when they see the images they will be glad they did. Can you say huge wall art?!
It's no secret that I love the tradition of the bouquet toss, garter toss, and the like, so I was extra happy when they had these scheduled in. They are so fun to do and make for some amazing memories, not only for the bride and groom but for the guests too! One of the dogs joined in on the fun, but that is a story for another day. (wink wink, Ashley you know why).
Congratulations Ashley and Emmanuel I couldn't be happier for you! Thank you for the honor of being your photographer on such an important day.
