Their Story
I first spoke with Denise when I was attending a photography conference in Las Vegas. I was walking through the Mirage casino on my way to lunch when my phone rang. I was greeted with a bubbly friendly voice. And even though our conversation was brief I knew that we were going to be a great fit. She was full of energy and excitement. I couldn't wait to hear more about her and Cory.
Every story is as unique as the people in them. Love is incredible, it never ceases to amaze me how much of it is all around us. The wonderful thing is, that love will never end. It will be with us always. So I'm always so excited to learn what makes up the love story between two people.
Here is what I learned along the way about this amazing couple.
How They Met:
Denise and Cory met through UPS when Cory transferred from Yakima to Moscow for work. She recalls being instantly attracted to him when they shook hands. They ended up talking more that day, and that's when she knew she wanted to get to know him better.
Their First Date:
They enjoyed "The Breakfast Club" in Moscow Idaho for an early morning breakfast. When they were through they spend the next couple of hours walking around and talking waiting for the shops to open up. Once the shops opened they leisurely looked around and talked to each other. Denise was smitten and he had no idea. He thought he was still in the friend zone. Way to play it cool Denise!
The Proposal:
Cory suggested that they wake up early and go for a hike on the property. Cory practically had to drag Denise out of the house. They hiked to a beautiful spot that has a view of the Snake River. They stopped at the cliff overlooking the river and then Cory started telling Denise how amazing she is. She was half-asleep but thought he was being so sweet, and then he wrapped up by getting on one knee and saying "And anyway, what I'm trying to say is will you marry me"? She was so shocked and excited that she honestly couldn't remember if those were his exact words. She hopped around like an excited little girl.
And that brings us to the wedding day!
The Beautiful Details
Denise wore a stunning mermaid-style dress that fit her perfectly. I love the fact she picked this style, she looked absolutely amazing. romantic and editorial!
Cory opted to purchase a tux that was tailored to him, and you can tell, he looks handsome and confident. He is wearing the heck out of that suit!
Every groom should choose to do this. Nice work Cory!
Rain Is Said To Be Lucky On A Wedding Day
Rain on a wedding day is considered to be lucky because it means that your marriage will last.
It's such a sweet and comforting thought on a wedding day when faced with weather that's not sunny and bright.
The saying comes from the thought that when a knot gets wet it's very hard to untie. So When "Tying The Knot" the couple is supposed to be together forever.
On this wedding day, we did have rain, but it couldn't have been more beautiful if we had glowing light.
We had joy and happy tears, laughter, connection, and the beginning of a new family with the "I do's" between Denise and Cory.
Even when looking through the images of the day I found myself welling up with emotion at the sight of the look on Denise's face when she saw Cory waiting for her at the end of the aisle.
That look saws it all.
there is no denying her feeling at that moment. I know she will remember it forever. As years pass by she will flip through her wedding album and see this image and remember the undying love she felt at that moment.
The Same Area Where He Proposed
How incredibly romantic is it that Cory and Denise got married and had their wedding portraits taken in the same area where he proposed?
Fo the rest of their lives they will both be surrounded by so many joyful memories and stories to tell when looking at their bridal portraits.
The rain, the fanny pack, the misplaced items, and people, Abuela carrying the dress train. At the end of the day all of the things that happened create a unique story that is theirs alone.
And the only thing that really matters is their marriage which begins after the festivities end.
Him calling her wife.
Her calling him Husband.
The beginning of their family together. It all starts in those moments after.
Celebrating With Loved Ones
There aren't that many times in our lives that we get to celebrate in a big way. In those times it's wonderful that we get to share them with the people we love the most.
I loved to see the laughter everyone shared. Seeing smiles that must have made cheeks hurt. Everyone coming together to help get all the details just perfect.
Intimate weddings are emotionally charged and the ceremonies are full of personal meaning.
Cory and Denise were surrounded by loved ones far and near and it meant so much to them.
The Ceremony may be over but this is just the beginning of a long life together.
Congratulations Cory and Denise!
