She looked up at the wall again, her eyes drawn to the smiling faces, framed and carefully placed in a position of importance. They seemed to say, “Our kids are outstanding, and we are so blessed to call them ours.” But as she stared at those photos, her heart sank. She couldn’t help but wonder: Why weren’t her own pictures ever displayed like that in her parents’ home? Why didn’t they love her as much as her friends’ parents seemed to love them? What made her friends so special, and not her?

The questions swirled in her mind, but she never asked. She just felt sad, confused, and unimportant, internalizing that feeling of being less-than. Still, she couldn’t look away from those photographs. Deep down, she made a silent promise to herself: When I became a mother, my children’s faces would be displayed proudly on the walls of my home. I want them to know they were more valuable than any piece of art, more precious than any expensive collectible. I want them to grow up feeling loved, cherished, and completely irreplaceable.
